
ASID Student Member Lauren Henrie, a junior at Utah State University was announced as the Grand Prize winner of a $10,000 scholarship provided by Dal-Tile, Industry Partner of ASID, in partnership with the ASID Foundation.
Pictured here, Lauren is presented with the $10,000 award check by Dal-Tile President John C. Turner, Jr. Lauren hopes to use the scholarship to pursue an internship this summer in New York City.
Lauren’s winning design, which utilized a variety of Daltile products, was selected from more than 150 submissions from design students nationwide. In her concept, the Ripplinger family bathroom was designed to meet the needs of a family with multiple generations and various physical ability levels.
Congratulation also go out to the three runners-up, who will each receive a $2,500 scholarship: Cassondra Meldrum, Student ASID, Utah State University; Katelyn Lindstrom, Student ASID, Utah State University; and Rebecca de la Torre, Savannah College of Art & Design.
More than 250,000 votes were cast on Dal-Tile’s Facebook page in order to select ten merit award winners, who each received $1,000 scholarships. Merit winners include ASID Student Members Flavia Piedra, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale; Benae Buss, Utah State University; Vivian Hui, Art Institute of California – Sunnyvale; and Natalie Hall, Brigham Young University – Idaho.
