About the Author
Melanie Murata is a designer at Gensler in Newport Beach, Calif. and sits on the ASID National Board. She is a graduate of the interior design master’s program at Florida State University, is a past ASID Chapter President, and was the recipient of the 2013 ASID National Leadership Award. Melanie is a LEED Green Associate, and is currently working towards attaining NCIDQ certification and licensure.
