Designer of the Year
Celebrating a designer for outstanding innovation and impact through design.

Eligibility

Open to an individual ASID Practitioner (Professional, Allied, or Associate).

Minimum of five (5) years of experience.

Demonstrated impact of work.

Submission Requirements

Portfolio of Work

Provide a portfolio of select projects that demonstrate your design process and your achievements and impact on the profession.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Professional Statement

Describe your impact on design (500 word maximum).

Letter of Support

Provide the name and email of a colleague, mentor, or mentee for a letter of support.

ASID will email your identified reference to upload their letter directly to your application.

Resume/CV

Provide a written overview of your employment, education, and volunteer experience. (2MB maximum).

 

Volunteer of the Year
Recognizing an outstanding member of the American Society of Interior Designers for significant contributions and demonstrated leadership to the Society through volunteer efforts.

Eligibility

Open to an ASID Practitioner (Professional, Allied, or Associate), Educator, or Affiliate member.

Demonstrated commitment to ASID through volunteer efforts for a minimum of five (5) years.

Submission Requirements

Portfolio of Volunteer Efforts

Provide a portfolio detailing your demonstrated leadership and volunteer efforts within the interior design industry, including organizations, specific initiatives and leadership positions.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Professional Statement

Describe how your work has made ongoing contributions to improve the greater good (500-word maximum).

Letter of Support

Provide the name and email of a colleague, mentor, or mentee for a letter of support.

ASID will email your identified reference to upload their letter directly to your application.

Provide a written overview of your employment, education, and volunteer experience. (2MB maximum).

 

Student of the Year
Honoring a student member of the American Society of Interior Designers who has had an outstanding impact on their chapter or community through volunteer leadership.

Eligibility

Open to an ASID Student member.

Provide a portfolio detailing demonstrated impact through volunteer efforts within your school, chapter or community, including specific initiatives and leadership positions.

Chapter of the Year
Honoring the extraordinary performance by an ASID chapter in promoting the goals and strategic vision of the Society.

Eligibility

Open to an ASID Chapter.

Provide a portfolio of projects, achievements, and community impact that demonstrates your chapter's commitment to promoting and increasing ASID’s visibility within your design community.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Statement of Achievement

Describe the impact of your chapter's efforts to strengthen the Society (500 word maximum).

Letter of Support

Provide the name of an individual who has been positively impacted by the chapter's efforts within your design community. The person writing the letter of support cannot be an ASID member.

ASID will email your identified reference to upload their letter directly to your application.

 

Educator of the Year
Recognizing an outstanding design educator who has made an impact on the lives of students and works to advance interior design education through leadership, vision, and advocacy.

Eligibility

Open to an ASID Practitioner (Professional, Allied, or Associate), or Educator member.

Currently employed by an accredited university or college teaching interior design.

Submission Requirements

Portfolio of Achievement

Provide a portfolio detailing the strengths of your teaching and the scope, quantity, and quality of your educational contributions.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Professional Statement

Describe how your work has impacted your students and advanced interior design education. (500 word maximum).

Letter of Support

Provide the name and email of a colleague, supervisor, mentor, or mentee for a letter of support.

Firm of the Year
Celebrating an outstanding and innovative interior design firm for their achievements and contributions to advance the practice of design, and their demonstrated commitment to their employees, clients and community at large.

Eligibility

Open to an interior design firm with at least one (1) ASID member currently employed.

Minimum of five (5) years in business.

Demonstrated impact through body of work.

Demonstrated commitment to employees, clients, community, and planet.

Submission Requirements

Corporate Portfolio of Work

Provide a prepared presentation of initiatives, achievements, community impact and industry recognition that demonstrate your firm's impact on the profession.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Professional Statement

Describe how your firm works to advance the practice of design (500 word maximum).

Letter of Support

Provide the name and email of a client or community partner for a letter of support.

ASID will email your identified reference to upload their letter directly to your application.

 

Community Impact of the Year
Honoring an organization or group for significant contributions using design to improve lives and impact the human experience in their local community.

Eligibility

Open to an organization or team that has completed a community service project using interior design within the past twelve (12) months.

At least one member of the team must be an active ASID member.

Community Project Portfolio

Provide a portfolio presentation demonstrating the impact of your project on the community.

Portfolio must be submitted as one PDF file not exceeding twenty (20) pages and 15MB.

Professional Statement

Describe how your project has improved the human experience in your community (500 word maximum).

Provide the name of someone impacted by the project for a letter of support.

Advocate of the Year
Recognizing an individual for their efforts to promote the value of the Society, its members, or the interior design profession as a whole.

Eligibility

Open to an individual with demonstrated contributions to ASID and a demonstrated commitment to promoting the value of interior design.
